After graduating from the University of Adelaide, Dr Tirza Harley began her dental career in the snowy town of Jindabyne, NSW—honing her skills in Emergency Dentistry by day and hitting the ski slopes by weekend. When the snow melted, she sought new challenges and made the move to Collins Street, Melbourne.
During her time in Melbourne, Dr Harley developed a special interest in orthodontics. While she is not a specialist orthodontist, she has completed extensive training both in Australia and overseas, and is passionate about Early Intervention Orthodontics. She regularly teaches clinical orthodontic skills to colleagues and is dedicated to staying up to date with the latest advancements—particularly in Invisalign (Clear Aligner Therapy) for both teens and adults.
Her passion for smile design also led her to expand into cosmetic dentistry, including restorative treatments and Botox for a naturally refreshed appearance. She believes everyone—young or older—deserves to feel confident in their smile.
In 2016, Dr Harley returned home to Sydney with her husband, Dr Oliver Cvekus, and together they became the proud owners of Pennant Hills Dental Centre and The Village Dentist, Castle Hill. Under their leadership, both practices have received numerous accolades while they have been at the helm, including the Hornsby Local Business Award and the national HESTA Aged Care Award.
Dr Harley is especially passionate about helping children build a lifelong positive relationship with dentistry. She founded a Primary Schools Oral Health Program, which she presents to local schools annually, promoting early education and prevention. For her contributions to the dental community, she was awarded a Fellowship with the Pierre Fauchard Academy in London—a recognition of service and leadership in the profession.
With over 15 years of experience in orthodontic care and a recent Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Clear Aligners), Dr Harley is committed to delivering faster, more predictable, and more aesthetic orthodontic results. She often works alongside Dr Cvekus to align teeth before his complex restorative smile transformations.
Dr Harley lives locally and in her spare time she is passionate about cooking with her two young sons and entertaining at home. She also never passes up a chance to head back to the mountains for some skiing and fresh air.
